Créé en 2012, le V12 de 6 262 cc, incliné à 65° et à injection directe 200 bars offre des performances inégalées pour un moteur à aspiration naturelle 12 cylindres en termes de puissance et de régime à son époque.
Sa puissance maximale est de 740 CV pour une puissance spécifique de 118 CV par litre et 690 Nm de couple. Sur ce couple de 690 Nm, 80 pour cent sont sous pression à partir de 2 500 tr/min, ce qui permet une forte accélération jusqu’à 8 700 tr/min.
À l’instar des moteurs des F1 de Ferrari, le V12 se flatte d’avoir de très faibles niveaux d’inertie pour veiller à ce que le moteur tourne rapidement. Au cours du développement, de nombreux points ont été particulièrement soignés, entre autres le taux de compression qui a été augmenté à **.*:1.
