Renault has announced the new Austral crossover. This name means "Southern" in Latin. According to the press manager of the brand, this car will replace the Kadjar in the range. European sales of new items will start next spring.
"Austral is aimed to remind us of the brightness and warmth of the southern sunny lands. The name is perfect for this SUV because it invites you to an adventure," said Silvia Dos Santos, car naming strategy manager for Renault Group.
The length of the five-seater crossover will be 4.51 meters, the design of the model will receive features of the Renault Megane E-Tech. As suggested by Auto Motor Sport, the car will be built on the CMF platform, which is also used for the Nissan Qashqai. According to an unofficial source, the Austral will get a 1.3-liter gasoline engine and a six-speed transmission.
