Porsche electric sports cars will consist of 80% production in 2030

More than 300,000 Porsche cars were sold for 33.1 billion euros in 2021. This is a phenomenal record. The first time it has been achieved in the 91 years of the company's existence.Porsche has decided to use its lucky profits to produce more electric sports cars on the occasion of this unprecedented success. 

Today, electrified models account for nearly 40% of sales worldwide, but now those numbers are not enough and Porsche plans to reach 50% in 2025. Company intends to take the bar even higher and make electric sports cars the main production line. The goal is to reach 80% or more by 2030.

The new Porsche Macan EV will be launched on the new PPE platform in 2023. PPE has been developed together with Audi. Porsche is going to make its sports cars 718 fully electric by the middle of this decade.

CFO Lutz Reschke said: "We have challenging months ahead of us, both economically and politically, but we are nevertheless sticking to our strategic goal, which has been firmly anchored for years, of ensuring an operating return on sales of at least 15 percent in the long term.
