The G-wagen is back in the G-line with an exclusive Edition 550 version. The Edition 550 models are based on the G550, a different model from AMG, with a 416-hp 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8. It will be offered in Jupiter Red, Arabian Gray, or the new Moonlight White shade. Instead of the standard body-colored bumpers and fender extenders, the Edition 550 has black lower trim. The wheels are the same black 20-inch AMG 14-spoke wheels that are available as an option on the standard model.
The interior has two-tone Nappa leather upholstery, carbon fiber trim, and various options, such as massage front seats. The passenger-side handle has a badge indicating the special edition. There is also an emblem with a cool image of a G-wagen on an uphill climb.
Mercedes has not yet announced a price for the Edition 550, but we suppose it will be at least $150,000 like an equivalent G550 with a similar pack.
