BMW X8: the most powerful car in the whole history of the BMW

BMW released a teaser for the X8-concept crossover, which should give an understanding of the upcoming flagship SUV — the X8. The BMW showed just one official image so far we can know that the crossover has the narrow diode optics and illuminated contours of the front grill. Other unofficial photos from the tests demonstrate X8 that has a more aggressive design than the X7 because of the strong design and sloping coupe-like roofline. For the first time, BMW uses the vertical exhaust-pipe stacks. These may become an original feature for hybrid-powered cars.

BMW doesn't give information about the engine, but insiders say that the new X8 will get 625 h.p. 4.4-liter V8 paired with a hybrid system. If BMW borrows a motor from the i4 M50 electric car, total power will increase to 850 h.p. That's 24% more than Lamborghini Urus has. There's been no announcement of fuel economy estimates for the X8 yet, but fuel economy should be the same as the X7.

Multimedia will likely be standard: a 12.3-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a wireless smartphone charging pad. Possibly, the BMW will offer several different premium stereo systems, including one from the famous Bowers & Wilkins.

As for the interior, we don't think that there will be much difference between X8 and X7. The X7's interior is decorated with luxurious features, fine materials, nicely-chosen trim, and comfortable seats. Meanwhile, the X7 has three sitting rows, experts suppose that the X8 will refuse that idea to make enough space for its lower roofline and sporty styling.

Oliver Zipse, a board of directors member, said that "X8 is a brand-new model, high-end for the American market but also for the world market". The new BMW X8 will become the most luxurious and brutal model in the range and will compete with the Range Rover Velar and the Bentley Bentayga. It is assumed that the sale will start in late 2022 or early 2023.
